Why we are building this
Generic navigation knows the road network. It rarely knows the drive. A route through Norway is often decided by things most navigation apps treat as extra information: a ferry departure, a closed mountain pass, convoy driving, winter conditions and tunnels with height limits.
We build our own road network from NVDB, calculate the route ourselves, and put the ferries, the tolls and the road conditions into it. Vegferd is the app where this reaches the driver. The platform behind it is the same one we are opening up to businesses and assistants.
How we work with data
Data about Norwegian roads is uneven. Some stretches have real-time data, others have a timetable. We show the difference instead of hiding it, and we never give a number we cannot stand behind. The sources and licences are listed on the data sources page.
